HOVERBOY #20
"BLACK LIKE... ME?!"
Winter, 1952
Ace is sent on an undercover mission to infiltrate a black Civil Rights group in the deep south by painting himself up-- "Al Jolsen" style.
He sneaks into a meeting, but the group’s members see through his "disguise" instantly, and he's driven out into the country and left at the side of the road.
The white townsfolk nearby, however, are entirely fooled; and Ace is beaten, tarred and feathered, and nearly lynched before he can reveal his Caucasianness to the cities residents.
Out of vengeance rather than racial understanding, Ace changes into Hoverboy and burns the small Tennessee town to the ground.
