Known mostly for it's theme song, "HOVERBOY IS A CIRCLE WITH CORNERS, BABY!" by THE BEAT MONKEYS, which broke into AMERICA'S TOP FORTY and peaked at #39; the HOVERBOY comic from publisher OLD KEY was only one of many failed attempts to cash in on the ill-fated TV series, who's run ended after only a half-season, due to low ratings and the mysterious deaths of the 3 actors who played the title role in a total of 6 episodes.

The comics' setup and storyline varied greatly from established Hoverboy canon, disappointing Hoverboy fans and failing to attract new readers. The series was cancelled with this issue.
